The Naomi Bulka Community Mikvah is a beautiful, private, well maintained Mikvah that is open by appointment to all members of Ottawa’s Jewish community.

Evening appointments for Taharat Mishpacha or a bridal immersion can be made through the SJCC phone system, which directs to a mikvah specific booking system.

Eruvs in Ottawa

Ottawa has several kosher eruvim that allow Shomer Shabbas Jews to carry within their neighbourhoods. There is a “City Wide” eruv, that covers a large percentage of the city, and also three smaller, neighbourhood specific Eruvim.

The City-Wide Eruv

The City-Wide Eruv was established by the late Rabbi Reuven Bulka z"l. and encompasses a large percentage of the city. This eruv covers downtown, the Glebe and Alta Vista, and stretches to the border of Orleans in the east and Nepean in the West. Note that the northern border of this eruv is the Ottawa River. Rabbi Scher, of Congregation Machzikei Hadas, now oversees this eruv.
